Alhaji Gbolahan Isiaka Gbadamosi was born and raised in Lagos Island, Lagos State, Nigeria. Both his parents were from Ikorodu, Lagos State. An indigene of Lagos State, he likes to describe himself as a Lagosian by birth and state of origin, and Ijebu by tongue and tribe.
Alhaji Gbadamosi moved to the state of Minnesota in March 1982 where he has been an active and visible member of the Nigerian community both locally and nationally. He was a founding member of Egbe Omo Oduduwa-Minnesota, USA and was instrumental in the formation of the organization by convening the inaugural meeting that launched the organization in 1995. He was elected the second president of the organization in 1998. He is a member of Eko Club Minnesota, Ijebu descendants Association (IDA) and the Association of
Nigerian Engineers in Minnesota (ANEM). He was a past-president of Eko Club Minnesota, the Association of Nigerian Engineers in Minnesota, and the pioneer Secretary of Social and Culture of Minnesota Institute for Nigerian Development (MIND). He also served on the board of directors of the Minnesota Government Engineers Council (MGEC). Alhaji Gbadamosi served on the National Executive Council of Egbe Omo Yoruba in North America (the national organization of the Yorubas in North America) in 1998.
Alhaji Gbadamosi is an engineer by profession and works for the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA), where he has been since 1989. Prior to working at the MPCA, he worked at the Metropolitan Waste Control Commission (MWCC) now Metropolitan Council Environmental Services (MCES) and the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MNDOT). He has a Bachelor of Civil Engineering and Master of Science in Infrastructure Systems Engineering from the College of Science and Engineering (formerly Institute of Technology), University of Minnesota. He is a registered professional engineer in the State of Minnesota. A member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, American Society of Civil Engineers, Water Environment Federation and other professional associations.
Alhaji Gbolahan Isiaka Gbadamosi is married to the love of his life Alhaja Khafayat Abiodun Gbadamosi for 32 years and they have four children. In his spare time, he volunteers as a soccer and basketball coach in the Valley Athletic Association (VAA) in the city of Apple Valley, Minnesota where he resides with his family.
