Hello my name is Felicia Olayemi Alowonle. I attended Apple Valley Senior high school where I was involved in gymnastics, Black Student Union and a program that pushes students of color for success, AVID.
In AVID, I was selected to the leadership team called “AVID Leadership.” Later, I joined my school’s first Black Student Union and was selected as President. In the fall I will be attending the University of Saint Thomas with plans to major in psychology and Mental Health and minor in Business.
As a little girl I was always pushed harder in my academics to set a good example for my younger siblings. Throughout the long, “life lesson” talks I had with my parents I have finally realized. “Life will take you as far as you want”- Deray McKesson
