Pastor Goke Odujole – 6th President, Egbe Omo Oduduwa, Minnesota
In 2017, after a period of inactivity, Egbe Omo Oduduwa, Minnesota experienced a spirited revival through the unified efforts of some dedicated Yoruba residents in the Twin Cities—including Pastor Goke Odujole, their vision, passion, and commitment were instrumental in the reawakening. These efforts culminated in his election as the 6th President in December 2017, ushering in a transformative era defined by integrity, strategic focus, and a deep commitment to youth empowerment and cultural preservation.
A University of Lagos-trained Civil Engineer, Pastor Odujole brings a wealth of professional experience from the oil & gas and public water sectors. As an ordained minister, he embodies a rare blend of technical acumen and spiritual insight, which shaped his leadership philosophy centered on collaboration, cultural pride, and investing in the next generation.
A pivotal moment in his journey occurred in 2006 as he was about relocating to Minnesota U.S., during a visit to Lt. Gen. Alani Akinrinade’s residence in Lagos, where he met with Prof. Bolaji Akinyemi and Dr. Amos Akingba. When asked if he might be interested to lead Yoruba efforts in Minnesota, he laughed off the suggestion—unaware that fate had already begun charting that course.
During his two-term tenure, Pastor Goke Odujole led the association through some of its most trying times—navigating the global COVID-19 pandemic and growing calls for Yoruba self-determination. In the midst of these challenges, he launched “Ona Rere,” in 2019 a Yoruba Mentorship Initiative designed to cultivate the Omoluabi spirit and promote excellence among Yoruba youth in the diaspora.
One of the standout moments of his leadership was the virtual celebration of Egbe’s 25th Anniversary in July 2020, which attracted over 450 participants globally and featured keynote speeches from Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, HRM Oba Adekunle Oyeyemi, and Dr. Pius Akindutire, President of Egbe Omo Yoruba North America.
To honor the legacies of the late Engr. Rilwan Alowonle and Mr. Chris Seinde Ogunrinde, Pastor Odujole established College Student Recognition Awards in their names—ensuring their contributions continue to inspire academic excellence and service.
He also revived Egbe’s annual community picnic and anniversary celebration, now held every last Saturday in July, helping to strengthen community bonds, visibility, and cultural engagement.
In December 2023, Pastor Odujole officially handed over leadership to Dr. Razak Adedayo, leaving behind a legacy marked by humility, innovation, and a generational impact that continues to shape the future of the organization.
He resides in Cottage Grove, a suburb of the Twin Cities, with his beloved wife and their four children.
