Mrs Toyin K. Alowonle was the 5th President elect of Egbe Omo Oduduwa and the longest to have served in that office. She was president from January 2006 to December 2018. Toyin witnessed the formation of Egbe Omo Oduduwa Organization, which was formed in 1995 for the purpose of fostering unity, sharing resources, promoting economic, social and cultural advancement among the Yorubas in Minnesota and their offspring.
As the first woman President elected in the 24 year history of the organization, she brought many years of public speaking experience as a Distingushed Toastmasters member. Toyin has a Masters in Human Resources Management from Capella University which helped her to manage and empower people, and also a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from St Cloud State University.
Toyin, prides herself in community service involvement and volunteerism in many nonprofit organizations like 2nd Harvest Heartland, Feed my Starving Children, and coats donation to the Salvation Army during the Winter season.
She is actively involved as a member of EKO Club Minnesota and the Treasurer for EKO Club International. She is always a role model for our women and prove that what a man can do, a woman can also do it, and do it better.
She is always hopeful in the future of Egbe Omo Oduduwa, and very excited to see that our women are contributing in many ways to move this organization forward. She believes that children are the pillars for any organization and we must continue to prepare them for the future. Toyin is a lover of children and is always encouraging the younger adults to invest their time in helping those behind them. She is very passionate about people and always with a positive attitude, her smiles and respect to both the young and old is why she is loved by many. At a spare time she loves reading, enjoy cooking as well as traveling. She is blessed with 5 children, all who are accomplished professionals in their chosen field and 7 grandchildren that she enjoys spending her leisure time with, who also are very fond of their grandma.
